Asante Gold Corporation urges students to embrace science education 

The Chirano Gold Mines Limited, a subsidiary of Asante Gold Corporation, has urged pupils, especially those at the Basic Level to embrace Science, Technology, and Innovative studies to enable them meet global needs.

Mr. Stephen Asante Yamoah, General manager for the company, said the study of science and technology shaped the world and that the company firmly believed in the transformative power of science education, especially within its catchment area.

Mr Yamoah gave the suggestion at the opening of Ogyeahoho Science Fair sponsored by Asante Gold Corporation.

He indicated that the company would remain committed to improve upon the study of science by creating an enabling environment for the youth.

The five-day science fair dubbed “Asante Gold Ogyeahoho Science Fair” hosted at Sefwi-Awaso STEM was under the theme “Empowering Tomorrow’s Innovators Today.”

Fifty schools in the nine districts of the Western North Region are exhibiting their talents in coding, website development, virtual reality development,3D printing and robotics.

The rest are Artificial Intelligence, Digital Skills, and career mentoring.

The General manager entreated the participating pupils to explore the various exhibits and engage in exciting experiments, and to think beyond the classroom to avail themselves for global opportunities.

He said: “At Asante Gold Corporation, our mission goes beyond mining and aims at building stronger communities, fostering educational excellence, and inspiring future leaders.”

Mr. Yamoah advised the pupils to take the fair seriously to be “innovators, scientists, and leaders of tomorrow and the future at large.”
