APPRECIATION MESSAGE FROM ALHAJI MOHAMMED KASSIM – GOMOA-WEST NDC CHAIRMAN

The past few days have been overwhelming for me, as I have witnessed incredible love, unity, and support from the NDC family following my arrest and detention by the Central Regional Police Command.

I have never been arrested before in my life, nor have I ever intended to be an offender of the law. However, as the ruling government realizes that their return to opposition is inevitable, they have resorted to various tactics to frustrate the NDC. This includes intimidation. But I urge you all to stay strong and rooted in your principles to resist oppression in all its forms.

I extend my deepest gratitude to everyone who played a role in securing my freedom. To the NDC members of Gomoa-West and everyone who left their jobs to travel long distances just to see me, and to those who stayed by my side in Cape Coast, sleeping on hard floors, in cars, and even on tricycles through the night — your dedication will never be forgotten.

Special thanks to our party leadership led by the venerable Minority Leader, Hon. Cassiel Ato Forson, Hon. Kweku Ricketts, Hon. Richard Gyan-Mensah, Hon. Kwamena Mintah Nyarku (Ragga), and Mr. Eric Essouh. Your unflinching support and teamwork were instrumental in securing my release.

I would also like to acknowledge the Regional Executive Committee, especially the following individuals, for their immense support: Faustina Lamptey (Regional Women’s Organiser), Ebenezer Abeiku Essien (Deputy Regional Youth Organizer), Kojo Gyamfi (Deputy Regional Youth Organizer), Pobee Wood (Regional Treasurer), Dr. Shaibu Akansiseh (Vice-Chairman), Mike Dery (Regional Organiser), Cape Coast South NDC Executives led by Chairman Kurankye Taylor, Chairman Kwesi Walker (Cape Coast North NDC Chairman), Mrs. Ehunu Armah, and Alhaji Issah.

A heartfelt thank you to my legal team of six exceptional lawyers: Senior Comrade Lawyer Samuel Adu Yeboah, Mr. Kwesi Austin, Esq.; Mr. Bernard Arpoh-Baah, Esq.; Mr. Francis Tetteh-Sackey, Esq.; Mr. Eric Offei, Esq.; and Mr. Michael Nsiah, Esq. Your professionalism and expertise were key to our victory.

Finally, to my people at Gomoa-Ankamu, your overwhelming support and the warm welcome I received from you touched me deeply. The only moment I was moved to tears was when you came out in large numbers to greet me. I will never forget that.

Thank you all for standing by me in this time of trial. Your solidarity and resilience give me hope that together, we will continue to resist any attempts to silence or intimidate us. Let’s stay united and focused on the ultimate goal—winning power for the NDC, John Mahama, and Richard Gyan-Mensah.

Ghana needs a reset.

Yours truly,

Alhaji Mohammed Kassim,

Gomoa-West Constituency Chairman.
