The Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources has denied involvement in contracting land guards for its operations.
According to the ministry, the government, including the Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources, does not engage the services of land guards.
The denial comes on the back of allegations by the Daily Post Newspaper and Ghana web online news portal suggesting the Chief Director of the Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources had revealed the government’s engagement of land guards.

A statement issued by the Ministry says it legally appointed Aynok Holding Limited, a registered limited liability company, through its agency, the Lands Commission, to assist in reclaiming encroached government lands and that this partnership has been in place since 2012.
The ministry emphasized that all procedures followed by the government, in collaboration with the Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources, adhere to legal processes for the reclamation of encroached state lands.
The government, the statement said, remains committed to addressing land-related issues through lawful means.
