Gov’t resolves to include Organized Labour in COLA negotiations

Government has escalated discussions on the call for 20% Cost of Living Allowance (COLA) to a wider scope.

Negotiations will therefore include not only teacher unions but organized labour.

Negotiations is scheduled to take place on Tuesday 12th July, 2022.

The decision comes on the back of an emergency meeting between the government and Organised Labour on Friday 8th July, 2022.

A statement issued at the end of the emergency meeting expressed government’s commitment to engaging Organised Labour to find a lasting solution to matter.

Government appealed to the Teacher Unions to call off their ongoing industrial action as the parties reconvene next week Tuesday for further negotiations.
