Gov’t revokes all appointments and recruitments made after December 7, 2024

The government has directed the annulment of all appointments and recruitments made in the Public Services of Ghana after December 7, 2024.

A directive issued by Chief of Staff, Julius Debrah, instructed all Heads of Government Institutions to reverse such appointments and recruitments and provide a comprehensive report on actions taken by February 17, 2025.

Citing concerns over governance practices and principles, the decision aligns with the government’s stated policy on appointments made near the end of an administration’s tenure.

According to the Chief of Staff, such last-minute appointments do not conform to established good governance principles.

“This directive is consistent with the government’s commitment to transparency and due process in public sector appointments,” the statement said.
