Medeama Sporting Club Board Chairman, Dr. Tony Aubynn, has stated that the club has challenged itself to win the Ghana Premier League title for the second time.
He said this in an exclusive interview with ChannelOne Sports where he spoke about the club’s newly built TNA Stadium in Tarkwa and touched on the club’s ambitions for the 2024-2025 season having commissioned the stadium for use ahead of the ongoing campaign.
Medeama have made a brilliant start to the season by beating Accra Lions 1-0 in Tarkwa and securing a 1-0 win over Legon Cities in Accra.
“Having a standard stadium is good for our team. We are hoping to take every advantage to try and improve on our performance. We’ve challenged ourselves this time round again, that we should win the league and go to Africa (CAF Champions League) again. We are very sure that if we had our stadium during the previous encounter, we would have actually done much better (in the Champions League). What we need to do is to cross the first hurdle of winning the league.”
Medeama won the Ghana Premier League title in the 2022-2023 season; the Mauve and Yellow take on Basake Holy Stars next on September 27.
