Greater Accra Regional Minister-designate completes vetting in under 10 minutes

In an unprecedented turn of events, Greater Accra Regional Minister-designate, Linda Akweley Ocloo, set a record as the fastest nominee to complete vetting before the Parliamentary Appointments Committee.

Ocloo’s session on Tuesday, January 28, lasted less than 10 minutes, with no questions posed by committee members.

Instead, Minority Leader, Alexander Afenyo-Markin, simply remarked that the strong delegation accompanying her was proof of her competence.

Committee Chairman Bernard Ahiafor acknowledged her guests and promptly discharged her.

If confirmed, the Shai Osudoku MP will focus on urban development, youth empowerment, and enhancing public services in the Greater Accra Region.

In stark contrast, Defence Minister-nominee, Dr. Omane Boamah, endured the longest vetting session of the day. His appearance before the committee stretched over four hours, as he faced intense scrutiny from members.
