Assin North: Gyakye Quayson commends the EC for seamless electoral process  

 

Mr James Gyakye Quayson, the Member of Parliament for Assin North, has highly commended the Electoral Commission (EC), security agencies and volunteers for facilitating a seamless electoral process in the constituency.

He said, “I have visited 14 polling centres, and the electorate have been steadily streaming in to exercise their franchise, and though the pace has been deliberate, it has been consistent.

“I anticipate this trend to persist throughout the day. Such participation embodies the essence of democracy, and I am confident in my prospects of securing victory in the election,” he said.

Mr Quayson arrived promptly at 11:12 hours at the Breku D/A JSS ‘A’ to cast his ballot, and he was warmly greeted by some supporters.

His supporters erupted in cheers as he conveyed his optimism about retaining his parliamentary position, underscoring his unwavering dedication to spearheading developmental endeavours within the constituency.

In an interview with the Ghana News Agency, Mr Quayson underscored recent undertakings, such as enhancing local infrastructure, and reassured the constituents of his unwavering commitment to addressing their needs.

He affirmed, “I anticipate that the Assin North will reaffirm my mandate due to their acknowledgment of the initiatives I have been spearheading.”

His confidence resonated from his profound connection with the electorate, despite past legal controversies surrounding his eligibility.
