Dr Da-Costa Aboagye, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA), has dined with staff of the Western North Regional office of the scheme to foster cordial working relations.
Addressing the staff during the event, Dr Aboagye outlined some of the policies that had so far been implemented since he assumed office.
He mentioned that measures like the Electronic Pharmacy (E-pharmacy) had been put in place to check the co-payment issue that had been the menace and canker of the Scheme.
He stated that with the introduction of the property addressing system, drugs prescriptions could be delivered to clients’ homes with the E-pharmacy system.
Dr Aboagye said: “Just this week with the support of the executive management and the board, we have added four mental health disorders; bipolar, anxiety, depression and schcoghrun onto the NHIS benefits package.”
He assured the staff of decisions to introduce policies that would improve their welfare issues so they could give their best for the growth of the NHIA.
Before the dinner night, the NHIA CEO commissioned office buildings for Suaman and Juaboso District Offices.
Some board members, executive management members, staff from the Head Office, deputy directors, deputy chief executive officers, and selected staff from the various district offices graced the occasion.
