Health Ministry to engage implementing agencies on AG’s COVID expenditure report

The Ministry of Health is set to engage with its implementing agencies to evaluate actions taken to implement the audit recommendations in the Auditor General’s Report on the COVID-19 expenditure for the period March 2020 to June 2022, issued on 30th December 2022.

The Ministry welcomed the report and indicated steps are being taken to address all the issues.

A statement issued by the Ministry said as part of the interventions being pursued, an Emergency Expenditure Management Guideline is being prepared to provide the government with administrative protocols in times of emergency such as the Covid pandemic.

This, it said, will ensure compliance with relevant PFM regulations whiles providing timely responses.
