Here are the list of unaccredited study centres used by UCC, UDS and UEW

The Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC) has, on Thursday, October 3, released a list of study centres used by some prominent tertiary institutions in the country.

It stated that the programmes offered by the University of Cape Coast (UCC), University for Development Studies (UDS), and University of Education, Winneba (UEW) at their student centres were not accredited.

GTEC entreated students to avoid enrolling in programmes offered at these unaccredited study centres in the aforementioned universities.

It noted that, “GTEC will not recognise academic credentials awarded to students who enrolled with the UCC, UDS, or UEW for the 2024/2025 academic year and studied at these unaccredited centres.”

In a release sighted by GhanaWeb, the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission noted that it will also inform the National Service Secretariat (NSS) not to deploy graduates from these centres for the compulsory statutory national service.”

UCC has 91 unaccredited study centres, including Dreamfield International School, Sunyani; Fountainhead University College, Tema; Great Victory Academy, Bolgatanga; Holy Child College of Education, Takoradi; Holy Trinity Lutheran School, Kumasi; King Jesus School Annex, Koforidua; Kumasi Technical Institute, Kumasi; Mawuli School, Ho; and Tamale College of Education, Tamale.

UDS, on the other hand, has 21 study centres, while the University of Education Winneba has 48 unaccredited study centres, including Manye Academy, Axim; Sefwi Wiawso Senior High Technical School, Sefwi Wiawso; Enchi College of Education, Enchi; BIA Senior High Technical School, Sefwi Debiso; UEW Ajumako Campus; Kpando Senior High School, Kpando; Nalerigu Senior High School, Nalerigu; Damongo Senior High School, Damongo; and St. Martins Senior High School, Nsawam.
