Former Deputy General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Samuel Koku Anyidoho has publicly declared his decision not to vote for John Dramani Mahama in the December presidential elections.
The former President, he said, has been using surrogates to attack him and is disrespecting the legacy of the late President John Evans Atta-Mills.
He posted on X (formerly Twitter): “I have taken a very firm decision,” Anyidoho stated, “that because John Mahama continues to use his surrogates to attack me, and also because he continues to desecrate the memory of the late President John Evans Atta-Mills, I shall not vote for John Mahama.”
Koku’s public declaration has, however, incensed some X users who spared no letter against the Atta Mills Institute founder.
Koku Anyidoho clashed with the NDC and the family of the late Atta Mills on Wednesday, July 24 at the Asomdwee Park during a memorial service to mark 12 years since the passing of the late President.
The confusion started after Koku Anyidoho overran his scheduled time, delaying the second NDC event at the venue.
Two wreath-laying ceremonies were scheduled to take place; The first event, organized by Mr Anyidoho, ran over its scheduled time, delaying the second event organized by the NDC and the JEA Mills Memorial Heritage.
