I will involve chiefs in decentralized local government – Alan promises Nayiri

Mr. Alan Kyerematen has assured the Overlord of the Mamprugu Traditional Area, Nayiri- Naa Bohugu Mahami Abdulai Sheriga ( King of Mamprugu Kingdom ), that if by the Grace of God, he becomes President of the Republic of Ghana, he will ensure that Chiefs and Traditional Authorities are given a decisive role in the local governance structures of the country.

The NPP flagbearer hopeful was speaking at the Palace of the Nayiri as he continues to engage a cross-section of Ghanaians on his meet-and-greet tour preceding the opening of nominations for the Presidential slot of the NPP.

Mr Kyerematen pointed out that the state of the country demanded mature political leadership. An experienced pair of safe hands that would steer the country carefully with innovation and courage onto a resilient path that would exploit the abundant resources of the Mamprugu area to create jobs and incomes for the youth.

The Great Transformational Plan (GTP) would also ensure that farmers benefit from the full value chain of crops that were already being produced in the area including soybeans, rice and other grains. Farmers would also be helped to own their processing facilities.

In response, the Nayiri blessed the efforts of Alan, saying that though he has many sons, the first son who has come to him is the one God has blessed with victory. Furthermore, he said he who would be a good leader is wise enough to consult, and because Alan was taking time to consult the nation, he would be crowned with the approval of the people.

In conclusion, Nayiri offered Mr. Kyerematen a white ram as a token of his impending victory.
