Impeach Apasera, Dani Baah; 3 PNC members petition NEC

The simmering troubles in the People’s National Convention (PNC) appear not to be ending as three members of the party have petitioned the National Executive Committee (NEC) of the party to impeach the party’s leader, Mr David Apasera, and the chairman of the party, Mr Moses Dani Baah, for alleged financial malfeasance and misconduct.

Among other concerns, the petitioners said the leader and chairman called a NEC meeting on August 28, 2021, which was allegedly boycotted by the majority of regional chairmen in protest, which resulted in the NEC not forming a quorum.

The petitioners, embattled General Secretary, Ms Janet Nabla; Youth Organiser for Ashanti Region, Muniru Seidu Mohammed and Communications Director for North East, Mamuna Yidana, said the petition was pursuant to Article 49(a)(4) to remove from office the leader David Apasera and the chairman Moses Dani Baah.

The petitioners said in a release which purportedly announced the suspension of Ms Nabla as General Secretary, the signatories quoted Article 57 (7) which had nothing to do with the NEC’s approval of a report of the Disciplinary Committee but talked about the functions of the Communication Secretary.

“It is our appeal that you call an emergency NEC meeting pursuant to Article 49 (a)(4) to uphold the above truth about Apasera as he has misconducted himself and he is dishonest, corrupt and undeserving to serve the party in any position of trust,” it said.

The petition was copied to the leader of the party, Mr Apasera, Mr Baah, members of the Disciplinary Committee and all regional chairmen.
