Irene Naa Torshie Addo honoured by Methodist Church Ghana

The Methodist Church Ghana has bestowed honours on the Administrator of the District Assemblies Common Fund (DACF), Irene Naa Torshie Addo, along with Solomon Nuamah, a Kumasi-based businessman, and Madam Grace Boison.

The recognition occurred during the monthly program for Reverend Ministers and their spouses inside the newly constructed Wesley Towers in Ridge, Accra.

Wesley Towers, a 14-storey ultra-modern office complex, serves as the national coordination center of the Methodist Church Ghana.

The honourees were acknowledged for their substantial contributions, both in cash and furniture, towards constructing the impressive edifice.

Presiding Bishop Right Reverend Dr. Paul K. Boafo expressed the church’s gratitude, stating, “To all three of them, just by word of conversation, they were touched to come in and to support us in getting this facility to where it is.”

“The church leadership, recognizing the importance of such contributions, decided to initiate a series of honours to acknowledge all those who have played a significant role in financing the building.”

During the ceremony, gold-plated designs of Wesley Towers were presented to Naa Torshie and the other honourees, symbolizing the church’s appreciation for their vital role in bringing the project to fruition.

The Presiding Bishop emphasized that their names would be preserved in the church’s archives as a lasting tribute.

In her brief remarks, Naa Torshie dedicated the honour to her mother, highlighting her as a strong influence in her Christian life.

She commended the teachings of Methodism instilled by her mother and stressed the need for ongoing support and maintenance of the Wesley Towers.

Naa Torshie encouraged others to contribute to ensure the longevity and upkeep of the beautiful facility, emphasizing the importance of continuing the support for the church.

The ceremony celebrated the completion of Wesley Towers and also underscored the Methodist Church’s commitment to recognizing and appreciating those who have played a pivotal role in the realization of this significant project.
