In the name of Allah, the compassionate the merciful
“O you who have believed, indeed, intoxicants, gambling, sacrificing on stone alters to other than Allah, and divining arrows are but defilement from the work of Satan” Quran 5: 90. Allah has also commanded the believers as He has commanded His Messengers by saying: “O Messengers! Eat the good things, and do good deeds.” Quran 23:51. Moreover, Allah has said `O you who believe in the Oneness of Allah – Islamic Monotheism! Eat of the lawful things that We have provided you…”’ Quran 2:172. These three main verses of the Quran and many others are the bases for the prohibition of trading in unwholesome and illicit commodities.
Let’s look at the rationale behind the prohibition of pork and the use of pornography.
The consumption of pork and its related products:
Eating pork can also have long-term effects on a person’s health. Some potential long-term effects may include an Increased risk of developing heart disease, due to the saturated fats and cholesterol found in pork. Increased risk of developing diabetes, due to the high fat content and potential impact on insulin sensitivity.Increased risk of developing hypertension and stroke, due to the sodium content in processed pork products.Potential risk of developing certain types of cancer, particularly colon cancer, due to carcinogenic compounds found in processed meats.Digestive issues, such as bloating, gas, and inflammation, due to the high-fat content and potential presence of harmful bacteria in pork.
The use of pornography:
Last but not least, also pornography can have both physical and psychological effects on a person. Some potential long-term effects may include an increased risk of developing addictive behaviours and dependence on pornography for sexual arousal. Relationship problems include decreased trust, communication issues, and intimacy issues. Potential development of anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, and other mental health issues.
In a nutshell, the negative effects of consuming pork, the use of pornography, gambling, alcohol, and tobacco on human life, the economy at large, physical health and mental well-being, and social relationships can be significant and far-reaching. Individuals and governments need to be aware of these potential consequences and take steps to mitigate them.
And Allah knows best!“Praise be to Allah in whose favour good deeds are accomplished” (ibn Majah 3803)
