On December 20, 2024, Friends of Music Africa, in partnership with key collaborators, launched an exciting cultural tour dubbed “Keteke Bronya.”
The initiative aimed to celebrate and promote Ghana’s rich cultural heritage through the power of music.
The event kicked off at the iconic La Palm Royale Beach Hotel in Accra, where participants were treated to an immersive cultural experience. From there, the tour traversed some of Accra’s principal streets, transforming them into hubs of vibrant cultural festivities.
Speaking to Jedidiah Patrick Anarfi, a La Palm Royale Beach Hotel representative described the tour as a significant initiative.
“This tour is very important and will go a long way in projecting the rich Ghanaian culture to the world, especially during this yuletide season,” she said.
Mr. Jonathan Konney, Chief Executive Officer of Friends of Music Africa, shared his enthusiasm for the initiative.
Highlighting the event’s potential, he remarked, “This is the maiden edition of its kind, and it will go a long way in showcasing Ghanaian culture to the world. We are committed to growing this event, involving more participants, and ensuring its continuity.”
Looking ahead, Mr. Konney disclosed plans to make “Keteke Bronya” a recurring event, emphasizing its role in promoting African culture globally.
He also appealed to sponsors for support, stating, “We are calling on sponsors to come on board to expand the program.”
Participants expressed their delight with the tour, emphasizing the importance of preserving and celebrating Ghanaian heritage. Many noted how the event fostered a sense of unity and pride in the nation’s cultural identity.
The “Keteke Bronya” tour marks the beginning of what promises to be an annual tradition, blending music, culture, and community to showcase the vibrancy of Ghana to the world.
