Man ‘beheads’ landlord in Bia West

A man believed to be in his late forties has allegedly beheaded his landlord at Yaw Anane, a farming community in the Bia West District of the Western North Region.

According to the Assembly Member for Nafana Electoral Area, Augustine Boah, the deceased and the suspect are both farmers but it was the deceased, identified as Kwasi Antoh, 60, who owned the farm, while the suspect, Yaw Wotoro, was the farm keeper.

Confirming the sad incident to Adom News, the Assembly Member said the owner of the farm, Kwasi Antoh visited his farm and was not happy about the state of the farm. He complained that the weeds on the farm were not cleared, while pruning and other farm practices had not been done.

The deceased is said to have complained bitterly, but this did not go well with the farm keeper.

Unconfirmed reports had also suggested that the landlord had been ‘chasing’ the farm keeper’s 19-year-old daughter in the village.

The suspect, Yaw Wotoro reportedly picked a cutlass and slashed the neck of his landlord at the back of his house and ran away.

He was however apprehended by community members and handed over to the police.

“The body is at the Akatiso police station, we are waiting for the commander to arrive with his team. It is a very sad news. I have been an assembly member for two consecutive terms, and I have never heard of such an incident,” he said.

The Assembly Member advised community members to report persons who exhibit suspicious behaviours that could lead to such incidents.

“I’ll advice all and sundry to report persons of suspicious behavior to the assemblyman, the assembly committee or the newly built police station at Bia. Failure to do so, may one day result in a gruesome situation as this,” he warned.
