Leave with implementable programmes after retreat – Sports Minister to Federation Heads

Mr Kofi Iddie Adams, Miniter for Sports and Recreation, has urged Federation Heads to come up with implementable programmes that will develop sports after their two-day retreat in Koforidua.

He said the vision and talk were enough and that it was time for federations to come up with something new to promote and develop sports.

The Minister made this comment when he officially opened a two-day retreat for National Federation Heads in Koforidua organised by the Ghana Olympic Committee.

“Our sports will see growth from such gatherings like this, but this must not be one of the talk shops and must certainly go beyond visions,” he noted.

He urged the leaders to have a frank and meaningful discussion that will project Ghana sports to its past glory.

The Minister said, “you know the benefits of sports that is why you chose to serve therefore let us project the positive side of our sports to attract the needed support from corporate Ghana.”

He commended the Executive Board of the Ghana Olympic Committee for coming up with the retreat and encouraged them to continue to support the federations since they are the umbrella body for them.

He called for collaborations between the Ministry, the NSA, GOC and the various federations for the growth of Ghana Sports.
