The Civil and Local Government Staff Association, Ghana (CLOGSAG) has declared an indefinite strike effective Wednesday, July 3, 2024.
This has become necessary because the implementation of the proposed new salary structure approved by the Fair Wages and Salaries Commission (FWSC), Ministry of Finance, and Ministry of Employment and Labour Relations is yet to be implemented after one and a half years since a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was reached.
As such, CLOGSAG said it has waited long enough and has no other option than to proceed on strike if the government fails to implement the new structure by the end of the month.
However, CLOGSAG Executive Secretary Isaac Bampoe Addo declaring the strike in a statement on Tuesday, 2 July 2024 directed the closure of all CLOGSAG offices and asked members to stay way from work.
