Lydia Alhassan provides conducive learning environment for UG Staff Village School

The Member of Parliament for Ayawaso West Wuogon, Hon. Lydia Seyram Alhassan has commissioned a 6-Unit Classroom block and a Computer Lab at the University of Ghana Staff Village, at Legon.

Speaking to the press, Hon. Lydia Alhassan pointed out that, two classes were held in one classroom and therefore as a Member of Parliament for the Constituency, it is her responsibility to ensure that there are additional classrooms for students and teachers of University Staff Village people to study in an environment that is conducive to ensure that learning and teaching goes on.

According to the MP, the gesture is due to support received from Ghana Gas and the Ministry of Education to support for the ICT lab.

She said 50 tablets are giving to 50 students at a time to study at the ICT lab to appreciate learning of modern Technology.

The world of technology she indicated, is changing rapidly and that what they used to know when growing, is totally different from what is happening today added that, schools within the Constituency are to be captured as other schools across the country “It is happening across the country.

Hon. Lydia Seyram Alhassan however, tasked management of the school especially, the PTA to take good care of the infrastructure, by keeping proper maintenance culture.

She also advised parents to take advantage of government’s free education and send their children to school adding that, Government schools are as good as the Private schools. “So parents out there please, do not stress. Teachers at public schools are good and doing their best for our children.

The MP urged parents not to keep their children at home all because they cannot afford to pay their school fees in the Private schools but, seek admission in the government schools which are free.
