Comfort Doyoe Cudjoe retains Ada seat for fourth consecutive term 

 

Madam Comfort Doyoe Cudjoe Ghansah, incumbent member of parliament for the Ada constituency, has for the fourth time won the seat.

She has been given the nod to represent the people for sixteen years since 2012.

After collation, she had 22,019 votes, representing 72.37 per cent of the total votes cast.

Mr Renald Amarteifio, returning officer for the Ada Constituency, announcing the results at the Ada Technical Institute Hall’s collation centre, said Madam Suzette Norley Dornukie Norteye, who contested on the ticket of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), also polled 8,119 votes, representing 26.66 per cent of the total vote cast.

The total valid vote was 30,138, with 287 votes rejected, bringing the total votes cast to 30,425.

He then declared Madam Ghansah of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) as amember of parliament-elect for the Ada Constituency.

The presidential results also saw Dr Mahamudu Bawumia attaining 3,206 votes; Daniel Augustus Lartey Junior, 20; Christian Kwabena Andrews, 21; Kofi Akpaloo, eight; Mohamed Frimpong had no votes; Nana Akosua Frimponmaa, 36; John Dramani Mahama, 26,202; Hassan Abdul Ayarigah, 49; Kofi Koranteng, four; George Twum Barimah, three; Nana Kwame Bediako, 156; and Alan John Kwadwo Kyermanteng, 47.
