Madam Gladys Adjepong, mother of the immediate past Minister of Food and Agriculture, Dr. Owusu Afriyie Akoto will be laid to rest on Saturday, August 31, 2024.
The retired educationist who touched the lives of many and a devoted mother nurtured her children, including Dr. Afriyie Akoto, with unwavering dedication and guidance. Her legacy continues to inspire and motivate those who knew her.
The pre-burial and burial services, scheduled for the Wesley Methodist Cathedral in Koforidua, promises to be a celebration of her life, as family, friends, and dignitaries gather to pay their last respects.
The cathedral will echo with tributes, eulogies, and fond memories of a lady who touched countless lives.
Madam Gladys’ journey to eternity began on May 19, 2024, when she was called to glory.
” As she journeys to eternity, we take comfort in the memories we shared, the lessons she taught, and the love she embodied,” Dr. Afriyie Akoto said.
The remains of Madam Gladys will be privately interred on Saturday, August 31, 2024, followed by the final funeral rites at the Omanhene’s Park in Koforidua from 13:00 GMT to 18:00 GMT.
A memorial and thanksgiving service will be held in her honor on Sunday, September 1, 2024, at the Wesley Methodist Cathedral from 9:00 GMT to 12:00 GMT the dress code will be black and white.
Born on December 18, 1927. She died at the age of 96.
Madam Gladys left behind five children, numerous grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Her legacy will impact on generations to come.
