Former President John Dramani Mahama has expressed confidence in a National Democratic Congress (NDC) victory in the upcoming elections, dismissing recent opinion polls that suggest otherwise.
Speaking to a crowd of enthusiastic supporters during his campaign trail, Mahama criticized what he termed “fake” polls being published by the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the government.
He asserted that these surveys lacked credibility and transparent methodology.
“All the credible opinion polls have predicted that NDC is going to win. And so because of that, the NPP and government have started publishing fake opinion polls,” Mahama told the crowd.
He underscored the importance of credible institutions such as the Economic Intelligence Unit, Fitch Solutions, and Global Info Analytics, which have all forecasted a victory for the NDC.
Despite his optimism, Mahama urged supporters to remain vigilant and avoid complacency, emphasizing the need for every NDC member to safeguard the integrity of the election process.
He said, “We must protect every single person’s vote. And that is why I say, in this election, all of us are going to be polling agents.”
Mahama’s message comes as the campaign heats up, with both the NPP and NDC gearing up for a tightly contested race.
