The President-elect stressed Bagbin’s distinguished parliamentary career, which spans from serving as a Member of Parliament for Nadowli to holding roles as Minority Leader, Majority Leader, and currently Speaker of the 8th Parliament.

“Rt. Hon. Bagbin has demonstrated exceptional dedication and competence in parliamentary service. He brings a wealth of experience that will be pivotal in guiding Parliament during this critical period in Ghana’s democratic and legislative journey,” the statement noted.

The President-elect emphasized that the leadership of Bagbin as Speaker will be crucial in navigating the current legislative landscape and ensuring Parliament functions smoothly and efficiently.

“Under the stewardship of the Rt. Hon. Alban Bagbin, Ghana’s Parliament will be further strengthened to effectively fulfil its oversight responsibilities,” the statement added.
