President John Dramani Mahama has streamlined governance by restructuring the ministries within the Civil Service.
During his 2024 campaign, the president pledged to form a lean government and limit the number of Ministers to 60.
Fulfilling this promise, he reduced the number of ministries from 30 to 23 through the Civil Service (Ministries) Instrument, 2025.
He signed the Executive Instrument on January 9, 2025, under section 11(3) of the Civil Service Act, 1993 (P.N.D.C.L. 327).
