MAKE YOUR WAY PROSPEROUS

Scripture Reading: Joshua 1

This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success. Joshua 1:8

God commanded Joshua to be strong and courageous. After that, the Lord gave Joshua the keys to developing his spiritual strength. The key success factor for how Joshua would win the battles for the Promised Land was the word of God.

The Lord taught Joshua how to make His way prosperous. He had to see his life in the light of God’s word. Joshua had to know the power of the divine word, to rule his world. When there was no universe, God’s word brought the universe into being. When there was darkness all around, His word brought light. When there was chaos, the word of the Lord brought order. His word opened the Red Sea and shut the mouth of lions.

Our Lord Jesus turned water to wine by His word. His word made Peter walk on water. That same word holds the universe in place and makes the earth spin in empty space.

The word of God is our sword and shield. By the word of the Lord, we go on the attack in battle; by the same word of the Lord, we defend ourselves in battle. The Lord assured Joshua that he would have good success if he placed a premium on the word of God. Since Joshua was going into battle, he needed the word of God as his sword and shield.

As a shield, the word protects us from every attack that the enemy throws at us. When Satan throws sickness against your body, you cover yourself with the shield of faith. When he throws the arrows of shame and disgrace, you cover yourself under the shield of faith. When he comes against you with arrows of poverty, you cover yourself under the shield of faith.

The moment you let down the shield of faith, you become exposed to all the fiery darts of the wicked one. Don’t let down your shield of faith. In the face of enemy attack, cover yourself with the shield of faith. Keep the shield of faith up. Believe the word. Speak the word. When your body cries out in pain, still hold up the shield of faith. That is the way to make your way prosperous and have good success.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, your word is my shield and my sword. Today, I release the word into my life for success and prosperity. In Jesus’ name, Amen!
