Minority leadership changes: NDC Council of Elders call for restraint

The Council of Elders of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has called on Members of Parliament, party leadership at all levels and all concerned NDC members to refrain from public pronouncements on the recent appointments to the party’s parliamentary leadership.

According to Council, in the larger interest of the great NDC, there is a need to be circumspect in order not to play into the hands of the party’s detractors.

A statement signed by Chairman of the Council of Elders, Alhaji Mahama Iddrisu, indicated they have received a petition from some members of the Minority caucus and have initiated steps to act expeditiously on it and related matters.

It assured the rank and file of the party of an early and principled resolution of the issues and ultimately, the NDC will emerge stronger and more united.

“We urge all members of the NDC to re-dedicate themselves to working for victory in the Presidential and Parliamentary elections in 2024, to alleviate the suffering of the Ghanaian people,” the statement said.
