Naa Torshie rallies support for Bawumia, Ursula Owusu in Ablekuma West

The Administrator of the District Assemblies Common Fund (DACF), Hon. Irene Naa Torshie Addo, has intensified her campaign efforts in the Greater Accra Region to drum up support for Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, who is seeking to become the first Muslim President of Ghana.

She described Dr. Bawumia as the most competent and visionary candidate to lead the country in the upcoming elections.

The first phase of her campaign tour took her to six constituencies: Korle Klottey, Tema East, Ashaiman, Tema Central, Ledzokuku, and La Dade Kotopon.

Addressing residents of Korle Klottey, La Dade Kotopon and the various other constituencies, Hon. Naa Torshie conveyed Dr. Bawumia’s greetings and outlined key reasons why he deserves the support of voters.

She emphasized his integrity, competence, and commitment to youth development, urging voters to support Bawumia and all New Patriotic Party (NPP) parliamentary candidates in their constituencies.

“Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has a proven track record of being corruption-free and scandal-free. He is a leader with integrity who has never been implicated in corrupt practices nor resorted to insults. He is ready to take Ghana to greater heights,” Hon. Naa Torshie stated.

She also stressed the achievements of the NPP government under difficult global conditions, including the COVID-19 pandemic, and argued that Dr. Bawumia’s expertise in economics and finance makes him the best candidate to build on these gains.

“Ghanaians cannot afford to entrust the future of this country to any other candidate who might set us back,” she added.

Hon. Naa Torshie addressed concerns about Dr. Bawumia’s faith, urging Ghanaians to prioritize competence and character over religious affiliation.

She reminded the electorate that the Constitution permits any Ghanaian citizen who meets the requirements to lead, regardless of religion.

“If you say you are a Christian and cannot vote for a Muslim, then you are not practicing true Christianity. What matters most is the leader’s intentions, integrity, and vision for the country,” she stressed.

She emphasized Dr. Bawumia’s ability to relate with people of all faiths, assuring voters that he would be a president for all Ghanaians.

Drawing an example from international politics, she pointed out that Rishi Sunak, a Hindu, leads the United Kingdom, a predominantly Christian nation.

“What Ghana needs is a leader who genuinely cares for the people and is ready to serve with integrity. That is the kind of leader Dr. Bawumia is,” she stated.

Hon. Naa Torshie encouraged voters to choose progress and unity by supporting Dr. Bawumia and the NPP in the upcoming elections.
