The Asomkahene of Anum-Asamankese in the Eastern Region, Nana Kwaku Agyei Kodie I, has facilitated the award of scholarships to two citizens of the traditional area to study in China.
The lucky awardees are Emmanuel Aglago, a teacher at the Anum-Asamankese L/A Primary School in the Eastern Region; and Bright Adu Appau, a District NADMO Coordinator in the Bono East region.
The two departed the country to begin their study in China on Sunday 3rd September 2023.
Known in private life as Sammy Agyei and a journalist, Nana Kodee I emphasized the need for higher education to build on the capacity of professionals, particularly teachers.
According to him, the plan was to send teachers to upgrade as that has a direct impact on the human resources development of Anum-Asamankese and Ghana as a whole but since it has opened an opportunity for others it is best to take advantage of it.
He congratulated the two gentlemen and urged them to work hard and give the best accounts of themselves while in China in order to open the doors for more scholarships to benefit their colleagues.
Nana Kodie I charged teachers and indeed other professionals in Anum-Asamankese to keep praying for their turn and to advise and encourage their two colleagues to put up their best behavior in order not to halt the scholarship scheme prematurely.
