NDC Okaikwei Central mourns former Foursquare Branch Women’s Organizer, Yvonne Oklu

The Okaikwei Central branch of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) joined mourners and well-wishers on Saturday, August 12 to mourn and pay tribute to the late Yvonne Oklu, a former Foursquare Branch Women’s Organizer

A powerful delegation from the NDC came together at the funeral to commemorate the life of Oklu.

The strong delegation included notable figures such as Hon Nadine Issah Salifu, Hon Fred Tetteh Nii Tu, Engr Judge Hasford Quartey, Constituency Chairman Kwame Zancoh, and the Parliamentary Candidate Hon Baba Sadiq.

Representatives from other constituencies including Okaikwei North MP, Hon Theresa Lardi Awuni; Deputy National Communication Officer, Godwin Ako Gunn; Dome Kwabenya Parliamentary candidate, Elikplim Akurugu; former PC aspirant, Paul S. Apenu also lent their presence.

Hon Godwin Ako Gunn, Deputy National Communication Officer of the NDC, read the Constituency’s heartfelt tribute to the late Comrade Yvonne Oklu.

“It is with heavy hearts that we gather here today to remember and pay our respects to the late Comrade Yvonne Oklu. Her dedication to our party and her role as the Foursquare Branch Women’s Organizer will forever be remembered,” he said.

Speaking on behalf of the party, Hon Baba Sadiq emphasized the NDC’s commitment to its members and sympathizers within the constituency.

He echoed the sentiments expressed by Ako Gunn, saying, “As we mourn the loss of a dedicated member of our party, let us also remember the values and principles she stood for. The NDC is committed to the well-being of its members and supporters, and we urge you all to continue standing with us as we strive for a better future.”

The gathering was marked by an outpouring of grief and respect for the late Comrade Yvonne Oklu, who left an indelible mark on the NDC Okaikwei Central community.

Members of the party, including executives, women’s wing, youth wing, Zongo Caucus, ward executives, and branch executives, were acknowledged and appreciated for their massive turnout and unwavering support.

The NDC Okaikwei Central fraternity remains unified in its purpose, dedicated to upholding its members’ welfare, and fostering a sense of camaraderie within its ranks.
