NDC primaries: Dr. Duffuor petitions EC over ‘fraudulent voter register’

The Campaign Team of Dr. Kwabena Duffuor has accused the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Election Committee of plotting to use a fraudulent voter register to conduct the 13th May presidential primary.

The team is therefore demanding the full complement of the voter register for the impending presidential and parliamentary primaries.

In a letter addressed to the Electoral Commission (EC), the team indicated it that requested for the voter register from the NDC party as stipulated in the Regulations governing the upcoming elections.

According to the team, a cursory analysis of information provided by the party at a meeting confirmed its concerns about excessive anomalies in what the party is presenting to the EC as the Voters Register.

“We are by this letter drawing your attention to possible legal ramifications of the actions and inactions of the NDC Elections Committee.”

“We will wish that as the Body that shall supervise the election, you bring all key actors to an urgent round table discussion within your ambit to iron out the issues so as not to be ambushed in a minefield that has catastrophic consequences,” the team demanded.

Three candidates are contesting the NDC’s presidential primaries namely, Former President John Dramani Mahama; Mr Kojo Bonsu, a former Mayor of Kumasi, and Dr Kwabena Duffuor, a former Minister of Finance.
