The National Democratic Congress (NDC) will today hold a wreath-laying ceremony to commemorate the fourth anniversary of former President Jerry John Rawlings’s passing.
The event will be held at the Party Headquarters in Adabraka at 10:00 a.m.
The solemn occasion will honour the legacy of Rawlings, who led the NDC and Ghana during pivotal moments in the nation’s history.
NDC executives, supporters, and invited dignitaries are expected to attend the ceremony, which will pay tribute to Rawlings’ lasting contributions to Ghana’s democracy and the NDC party.
The party has directed all national, regional, and constituency campaign teams, which are actively engaged in the ongoing “Resetting Ghana” campaign across the country to observe two minutes of silence at exactly 10:00 am.
This gesture is aimed at uniting party members and sympathizers in collective remembrance of the late president.
The NDC emphasized the importance of the wreath-laying ceremony and honouring the memory of the party’s founder and former leader, who remains an iconic figure within Ghana’s political landscape.
The former President died at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital on Thursday, 12 November 2020. He was 73.
