The opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) has reaffirmed its determination to prosecute corrupt officials from the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) to deter future administrations from misusing public funds.
During a press briefing in Accra on Wednesday, NDC General Secretary Fifi Fiavi Kwetey condemned the alleged reckless expenditure by NPP officials, promising that such actions would face strict legal consequences under an NDC government.
“The reckless misuse of public funds by officials in the NPP administration will not go unpunished,” Mr. Kwetey asserted. He urged Ghanaians to support the NDC in the upcoming December 7 election to ensure accountability and integrity in governance.
“A group of this nature must first be removed from power. The people of Ghana must unite to ensure these individuals are prosecuted, setting an example for future generations,” he stated. “Leaders cannot act with such insensitivity, corruption, and disregard for the populace. December 7 must be a decisive moment for the people of Ghana to voice their demand for change.”
In preparation for the general election, the NDC has also announced its national campaign team. Fifi Kwetey will serve as the Campaign Coordinator, with Joseph Yammin overseeing regional campaigns. The campaign efforts will be directed by a Campaign Steering Committee, led by the NDC’s national chairman, Johnson Asiedu Nketiah.
