Nkrumahists tasked to unite and explore ways to fund CPP

Dr. Divine Ayivor, the Election 2020 Vice-Presidential candidate of the Convention People’s Party (CPP) on Thursday entreated Nkrumahist political parties and associated groups to unite to explore ways of funding the CPP to win general election.

He said without unity of purpose, neither the CPP nor any other Nkrumahist-rooted political party would be able to win an election in the country.

Dr. Ayivor, made the call when he was speaking at a unity meeting organised by the United Nkrumahist Front (UNF) and attended by about 100 participants from the Ashanti, Bono, Bono East, Ahafo, Savanna and Greater Accra Regions in Sunyani.

The meeting was to reach out to all Nkrumahist to collaborate with UNF in striving to ensure the unity of all Nkrumahist and parties with a common goal to promoting ideas of the former President Dr. Kwame Nkrumah for the benefit of Ghana.

Dr Ayivor stated the CPP could change the dimensions of Ghanaians because Dr. Nkrumah by his governance style, prioritised job-creation by establishing and building many factories in the country to provide jobs for the people.

He expressed regret that schools under trees could still be seen in some parts of the country and urged all Nkrumahist as individuals and groups to collaborate to propagate the ideas and achievements of Dr. Nkrumah to the younger generation for the CPP to have the largest political following for electoral victory in the Election 2024.

In a forum, some of the participants expressed concern about the need for members to always make attendance to meetings a matter of priority to position the CPP strongly to wrestle political power back from the NPP and NDC.

The participants urged the government to prioritise public interest to protect the country from the exploitation of foreign companies who were in the country because of the nation’s minerals and other natural resources.

They said those companies and some local ones only thought of their profit-making without regard to the destruction of forest reserves, water bodies and general degradation of the nation’s environment.

The UNF is a socio-political movement registered under the Registrar-General Department and “seeks to unite all Nkrumahist under one umbrella with the ideologies of Dr. Nkrumah as an identity to help move Ghana for reforms and change for all citizens and generations unborn, he said.
