NMC summons 44 media houses over offensive broadcast content

The National Media Commission (NMC) has invited the owners of 44 media houses to a crucial meeting regarding the regulatory implications of offensive content identified in their broadcasts.

The meeting is scheduled for Thursday, October 31, 2024, at 10:00 a.m., and will take place at the International Press Centre.

The NMC will discuss concerns raised through media monitoring, which identified several instances of inappropriate content. The media houses cited include UTV, Adwenpa TV, Elephant TV, and Oyerepa TV/Radio, among others.

This engagement aims to ensure that all media outlets operate within the boundaries of broadcasting regulations, safeguarding public interest and content quality.
