It has emerged that no Minister from the Western Region was appointed as a member of the core group of Ministers who will advise the President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo. This was revealed when the full list of the President’s Cabinet was presented to Parliament a while ago.
There was no space for ministers such as the Minister for State Enterprises, Joseph Cudjoe, Dr. Kwaku Afriyie, Minister for Environment, Science, Technology and Innovation, and the Minister for Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs, Lawyer Ebenezer Kojo Kum – both coming from the Western Region.
Hon. Joseph Cudjoe is Member of Parliament for the Effia Constituency, whilst Lawyer Ebenezer Kojo Kum is Member of Parliament for the Ahanta West Constituency, with Dr. Kwaku Afriyie being Member of Parliament for Sefwi-Wiawso.
Many were hoping that either all of them, or, at least, one will make it into the list. However, when President Akufo Addo presented a list of 19 Ministers of state who will serve in his cabinet for the next 4 years, none of the two was included.
Speaker of Parliament on Thursday informed the house of the communique from the Presidency.
The list of the cabinet ministers are as follows:
1: Mr Ken Ofori-Atta,
Minister for Finance
2: Mr Alan Kwado Kyerematen,
Minister for Trade and Industry
3: Hon Dominic Nitiwul,
4: Hon Ambrose Dery,
Minister for Interior
5: Ms. Shirley Ayoko Botchwey,
Minister for Foreign affairs and regional integration
6: Mr Godfred Yeboah Dame,

Minister for food and agriculture
8: Hon Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh,

Minister for education
10: Hon Kwaku Agyeman Manu,
