NPP constitutes Review Committee to probe performance in 2024 elections

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has taken a significant step to assess its performance in the 2024 general elections by constituting an Election Review Committee.

This decision was reached during a National Council meeting on Thursday, January 2, 2025.

The committee, chaired by former Speaker of Parliament Rt. Hon. Prof. Mike Oquaye, comprises eminent personalities from academia, politics, and law. It has been tasked with conducting a post-mortem on the party’s election participation and submitting a comprehensive report within three months.

In a statement, NPP General Secretary Justin Frimpong Kodua urged party members and stakeholders to support the committee’s work.

The Review Committee, he said, will engage all relevant stakeholders to examine the factors behind our performance and recommend strategies for rebuilding.

“We call on all party members to cooperate fully and provide the necessary support,” Mr. Kodua said.

In a related development, the NPP National Council, in accordance with Article 14(2) of the party’s constitution appointed leaders for its parliamentary group for the 9th Parliament.
