NPP Presidential primary: Boakye Agyarko denies wihtrawing from run-off

New Patriotic Party (NPP) presidential hopeful, Boakye Agyarko, has denied withdrawing from the party’s presidential primary.

Mr. Agyarko and Addai Nimo who tied for the 5th position during the super delegates conference were set for a runoff.

Media reports, however, emerged on Monday suggesting the former Energy Minister had withdrawn from the contest.

In a sharp rebuttal, however, Mr. Agyarko declared his readiness for the runoff.

“My attention has been drawn to some false claims and reports that I, Boakye Agyarko have withdrawn from the NPP presidential primaries.”

“I have not made any such pronouncements with anyone or any media house. I am ready for the upcoming run-off scheduled for Saturday, 2nd September 2023,” a statement he issued stated.
