Outgoing National Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mr Freddie Blay has appealed to contestants of the National Executive positions in the just ended delegates’ conference, both winners and losers, to work together to make the party greater.
The new executives, he said, have a great task by ensuring the Party retains power in the 2024 general election.
“We should all continue to remain united and focus on the great task ahead irrespective of our differences,” Mr Blay said.
He was addressing delegates at the NPP’s National Delegates Conference on Saturday at the Accra Sports Stadium.
“I encourage you all to utilise the tools of negotiation and consensus building to unite the Party. We should make the needed sacrifices and compromises,” he said.
More than 6,700 delegates gathered at the Stadium and elected national officers to steer the affairs of the Party for the next four years.
The conference was on the theme: “Holding together, working together.”
According to him, in spite of the challenges his administration encountered, it worked hard to unify and strengthen the Party.
“The NPP is in a better shape than what our team inherited, ” he said, adding “through teamwork and patience, we will stay together and united.”
