Member of Parliament for Akuapim South, Osei Bonsu Amoah, has thrown his weight behind Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia as the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) prime contender in the forthcoming 2024 general elections.
Speaking when the Vice President’s campaign touched down in the Akuapim South Constituency, Amoah lauded Bawumia’s leadership qualities and highlighted his suitability for the presidency.
He described Dr. Bawumia as an exceptional figure within the NPP, second only to President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo in experience.
He commended Bawumia’s calm demeanour, eloquent speech, and exceptional emotional intelligence, factors he believed makes him the ideal candidate to secure victory for the ruling party in the upcoming elections.
“Dr. Bawumia is not temperamental and does not get angry easily. He does his things with the right precision and prefers to listen to everybody’s point of view at meetings before making a suggestion,” Amoah stated.
He further emphasized Bawumia’s ability to articulate his ideas and attract supporters to the NPP through his well-spoken demeanour.
The MP assured constituents that on August 26th, he and the constituency chairman would represent their interests as super delegates at the NPP’s conference in Koforidua.
He expressed the commitment of the Akuapim South Constituency to vote for Dr. Bawumia in the super delegates’ conference and then as the party’s flagbearer in the NPP presidential primary in November.
The ruling NPP has scheduled August 26, 2023, for its Super Delegates Conference to shortlist five out of the 10 flagbearer aspirants for the party’s presidential primary to be held on November 4, 2023.
“We will also not disappoint you, so on 26th August, you will hear that it is not only Akuapem South MP and Chairman who have voted for Bawumia but the whole of Ghana chose him,” Amoah declared, reflecting the broad support he believed Bawumia had garnered across the nation.
Amoah continued to underscore Dr. Bawumia’s exceptional competence and leadership qualities, noting that the Vice President’s steady campaign efforts had gained him recognition from constituencies and regions across Ghana.
“In the Eastern Region, the MP and Chairman will complete this exercise, and I pledge to you that here we have finished everything,” he affirmed.
The Akuapim South MP concluded by emphasizing the Vice President’s competence, effective communication skills, and overall positive influence on the NPP’s image.
He expressed optimism that Dr. Bawumia’s leadership would be instrumental in securing the party’s triumph in the upcoming elections.
