The Okaikwei North Municipal Chief Executive Honourable Boye Laryea is calling for peace in the Municipality ahead of the 2023 Homowo festivities.
He said peaceful co-existence among the Chiefs and people as well as the strict adherence to the laws of the country before, during and after the celebration was crucial for development of the Municipality.
Honourable Laryea also tasked non-Gas in the Municipality to also contribute their quota towards the sustenance of the peace and tranquility in the Municipality.
He urged parents to advise their children to keep the peace and quiet in the Municipality.
The Okaikwei North Municipal Chief Executive made the appeal during the presentation of assorted food items worth thousands of Cedis in support of the 2023 Homowo celebration.
The three beneficiary paramouncies are Abeka, Achimota and Akweteman all suburbs in the Municipality.
The yearly donation saw the Chiefs receiving bags of maize, palm nuts, gallons of palm oil, alcoholic and non- alcoholic beverages, packs of water, undisclosed amount of money among others.
Presenting the items to the Chiefs, the Municipal Chief Executive was optimistic the donation would go a long way to assist in the celebration of the festival.
Receiving the items on behalf of the two other Chiefs, Nii Ayibonte Adams II, Chief of Achimota was grateful to the MCE for the gesture.
He stated that the Assembly, since its establishment, has supported the yearly celebration of the festival in the Municipality.
Nii Ayibonte Adams II said the support the Chiefs are enjoying under the Assembly’s current MCE and the Management was not like that some years ago.
He prayed for God’s guidance, prosperity, strength and development for the Assembly and it’s management.
Present at the ceremony were Mr. Francis Mensah, the Municipal Coordinating Director, Honourable Abdullah Nii Odai, the Presiding Member of the Assembly, Madam Georgina Akambasi, the Head of Culture and Tourism Department; Nii Akwetey Brenya III, Akweteman Chief; Nii Boi Apajafo IV, Abeka Chief and Staff of the Assembly.
