Okaikwei North MCE Warns Trouble Makers Over Homowo in Municipality

The Okaikwei North Municipal Chief says persons who intend to hide under the cover of the impending Homowo Festival to foment trouble in the Municipality won’t be spared. 

According to Mr. Boye Laryea, anybody who attempts to disturb the quiet of the Municipality will be decisively delt with. 

He stated that it is the responsibility of the indigenes to safeguard the sanctity of the festival by preventing deviants who do bad things to mar the beauty of the festival. 

Mr. Laryea made the appeal during 

the presentation of assorted items worth hundreds of Cedis to Ga Chiefs ahead of the celebration of the 2022 Homowo Festival. 

The Okaikwei North MCE stated that

the gesture is a continuous attempt by the Assembly to assist in the celebration of the festival.

He said the Chiefs have been partners of the Assembly since its inception. 

Speaking on behalf of the Chiefs, Nii Ayibontey Adams II, Achimota Chief said they are grateful for the donation of the items in support of the festival. 

He said the Chiefs have not been left out in any of the activities of the Assembly, indicating that the donation shows how valuable they are to the Assembly. 

He said as Chief’s, they are aware of the various flash points in their communities and assured that the celebration will be incident free. 

DSP Isaac Okin Occansey, the Tesano Divisional Police Commander said that police are on standby to provide security for the festive season. 

Other Chiefs at the presentation were Nii Akwetey Brenya III the Akweteyman Chief and Nill Boye IV the Abeka Chief as well as their various entourages. 

Also at the donation was the Municipal Coordinating Director, Mr. Benjamin Ayikwei Armah, Honourable Abdullah Nii Odai, the Presiding Member of the Assembly and Georgina Akambasi, Head of the Department of Culture And Tourism. 

The distribution of the items was under the auspices of the Department of Culture And Tourism. 

The items included packs of bottled water, gallons of palm oil, palm fruits, bags of maize, alcoholic beverages, packs of aprons.
