Old woman blesses Asabee: Wishes him victory ahead of July polls

Madam Margaret Sarkodie, an octogenarian and resident of Bechem in the Tano South District of the Ahafo Region has poured benedictions on National Chairman aspirant, Hon Stephen Asamoah Boateng.

Beaming with infectious smiles and showing profuse happiness upon seeing the former Information Minister, Madam Margaret shouted ASABEEE till her voice was drowned by spontaneous applause by constituency executives of Tano South who had gathered to meet the National Chairman aspirant.

Her joy and show of ecstasy were no different from that shown by youth and middle-aged persons whenever they meet Asabeee, confirming the description of “magnet” given to him by political watchers.

Narrating to the crowd where she knew ASABEEE, the octogenarian said she knew the former Information Minister when he was deputy to Jake Otanka Obetsebi as Chief of Staff at the Presidency during President Kufuor’s tenure.

“ASABEEE would come to check on me almost every time he had the chance and would shower me with money and in fact he made me feel a proud mother even though he was not my biological son”, Madam Margaret narrated.

PRAYER:

She pleaded with the Tano South constituency executives to campaign and vote for Asabeee in the upcoming national chairmanship elections.

The over 80-year-old woman noted that ASABEEE was not only competent at work but is humanitarian and down to earth who relates well with people no matter one’s age, position or status.

She asked ASABEEE to stay focused on his campaign because God will show him favour.

“I will urge my sons and daughters who are constituency executives to look at my son Asabeee and vote for him so that he can use his capabilities to lead the NPP at this crucial time. The NPP needs him especially now going into 2024 elections. He’s an action man, smart and hardworking”, Madam Sarkodie passionately stressed.

TOUR:

Meanwhile, Hon Stephen Asamoah Boateng has so far toured the Ahafo and Bono regions and is expected to finish with Bono East by Thursday.

The national chairman aspirant is working on a 7 pronged campaign message across the country.

These include unifying the Party, empowering the youth and women, strengthening the structures of the Party, resourcing party persons and giving them specific roles to fulfil their mandates, and giving specific roles to enable them to perform at optimum levels.

Another area ASABEEE is concentrating his campaign on is his 60/40 initiative. This is to negotiate with the NPP presidential candidate on the need to give the party 40% of appointments when the party wins power as well as his desire to lead a solid party as a wartime general to win power for the NPP in the 2024 elections.
