Oliver Barker-Vormawor working for Mahama’s interest; He was presidential staffer under NDC – Kwame Baffoe Abronye

Bono Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Kwame Baffoe Abronye has stated #Fixthecountry convener Oliver Barker-Vormawor was a presidential staffer under the erstwhile National Democratic Congress administration.

According to Abronye, Mr. Barker-Vormawor who was arrested for making treasonable comments on social media is working for the interest of former President John Mahama.

In a write-up to the media, he indicated that as a Senior policy advisor at the Office of the President, Mr. Vormawor supervised the mismanagement of the economy under the NDC administration and the implementation of policy directives from the IMF.

“The result of their bailout led to the Withdrawal of Teacher Trainee Allowances, Withdrawal of Nursing Trainee Allowances, Tertiary students were made to pay utility bills which were free before going to IMF. Utility Tariffs were added to the school fees of SHS students, embargo placed on public sector recruitments, removal of subsidies on Electricity Tariffs, Imposition of more taxes on Petroleum Products, etc.”

“Whilst Ghanaians were enduring these hardships and sufferings coupled with Dumsor, Barker-Vormawor was receiving GH¢20,000.00 as monthly remuneration for working at with Mahama,” he said.

In recent times, the convener of #fixthecountry Oliver Barker-Vormawor has made certain treasonable comments on social media calling our respected army useless and threatening to truncate the 1992 constitution which we have all enjoyed over the years.

The unfortunate comment from the #fixthecountry convener has received several criticisms from a cross-section of Ghanaians however, it seems the National Democratic Congress led by Former President Mahama is in total support of the treasonous assertions made by Barker-Vormawor.

It may interest you to note that, the leader of #Fixthecountry was a presidential staffer and worked as Senior Legal and Policy advisor during the erstwhile Mills/ Mahama NDC Administration.

As a Senior policy advisor at the Office of the President he supervised the mismanagement of the economy under the NDC administration and the implementation of policy directives from the IMF as a result of their bailout which led to the Withdrawal of Teacher Trainee Allowances, Withdrawal of Nursing Trainee Allowances, Tertiary students were made to pay utility bills which were free before going to IMF, Utility Tariffs were added to the school fees of SHS students, Embargo placed on public sector recruitments, Removal of subsidies on Electricity Tariffs, Imposition of more taxes on Petroleum Products, etc…

Whilst Ghanaians were enduring these hardships and sufferings coupled with Dumsor, Barker-Vormawor was receiving GHS 20,000.00 as monthly remuneration for working at the with Mahama, Free Fuel, State Land cruiser V8, Free accommodation at Cantonments under 24 hours police protection and several other benefits including free foreign travels.
To add to that, at the end when NDC was leaving power he was paid GH¢ 300,000.00 as ex gratia, all at the expense of the taxpayers’ money.

As at the time Barker-Vormawor was enjoying all these, he didn’t call the army useless and did not see the need for the country to be fixed because he was part of the mess.

To conclude, it is clear why the NDC administration under Mills/ Mahama did not succeed. They had a clueless warmonger as their senior policy and legal advisor who is today calling for the country to be fixed.

Despite the fact that the world has been unstable for the last 3 years, the President Akufo-Addo led NPP has created several social and youth-driven interventions meant to lessen the sufferings of Ghanaian youth than any other government in the country’s history, citing the Free Senior High School, One-District-One-Factory, Digitalisation, Free Technical Vocational Education, the Planting for food and jobs, Restoration of Allowances for Teachers and Nursing Trainees, Reviving Scholarship Secretariat, the Nation Builders Corps, Youth in Afforestation, NEIP, the Amplified Projects and the Ghana Enterprises Agency as some of the interventions.
