Osu Stool clarifies: Ga Traditional Council directive restricting activities does not apply to Osu

The Osu Stool has moved swiftly to dispel any confusion regarding the jurisdiction of the Ga Traditional Council in the wake of recent directives restricting activities in the Greater Accra Region due to the funeral of the late Ga Manye, Naa Deidei Omaedru III.

The Ga Traditional Council’s directives, were in effect from Thursday, October 26, 2023, to Saturday, October 28, 2023, in connection with the final funeral rites of the late Queenmother.

An official statement released by the Osu Stool Secretary noted that residents and institutions within the Osu Traditional Area had been thrown into uncertainty due to the directive but clarified that the Osu Traditional Area is not under the purview of the Ga Traditional Council.

The Osu Stool emphasized, without ambiguity, that the directives issued by the Ga Traditional Council do not, therefore, apply to the Osu Traditional Area and requested all concerned parties to be aware of this fact and urged them to carry on with their scheduled activities unhindered.

The statement appealed to all relevant outfits to issue clarifications in this regard to ensure residents and institutions within the Osu Traditional Area could continue their daily activities without any disruption.
