Otumfuo allocates GH₵600,000 to boost Kotoko’s preparations for 2023/2024 season

Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, the Life Patron of Kumasi Asante Kotoko, has offered GH₵ 600,000 to the club’s recently-formed Interim Management Committee to bolster their preparations for the upcoming 2023/2024 betPawa Ghana Premier League campaign.

The Asantehene’s cash injection comes in the wake of the committee’s appointment, comprising prominent figures like Kontomponiaferehene Nana Apinkra Awusi-Awua, a Charted Accountant, head coach Dr. Prosper Narteh Ogum, former Black Stars boss James Kwesi Appiah, and Emmanuel Newton Dasoberi.

Their main task is to ensure the team is fully prepared for the challenges of the upcoming season.

The decision to form the Interim Management Committee was made following dissolution of the club’s previous Board after a season that fell short of expectations for the Porcupine Warriors.

Looking forward, the committee has set its sights on building a highly competitive squad for the 2023/2024 Premier League Campaign, aiming to regain their previous form after a challenging season that saw them unable to defend their 2021/2022 Premier League title.

With this substantial contribution from Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, Asante Kotoko’s management now has the financial support needed to enhance their team’s readiness, attracting potential new signings and bolstering their preparations for the forthcoming season.
