P.K. Sarpong writes: Bawuphobia is reason behind persecution of Rev. Kusi Boateng by NDC

The persecution of Rev. Victor Kusi Boateng by NDC’s lead attack dog, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, is as a result of their fear of Dr. Bawumia.

Ablakwa’s overly sensationalized vilification of the man of God is not in a vacuum. The NDC is worried about the strides Dr. Bawumia is making in his relationship with the Christian community.

Banking on the hopes that his Islam background may limit his influence amongst the Christian community, the opposition NDC has come to realize that Rev. Victor Kusi Boateng is a pillar in the Christian community and his closeness with the Vice President is playing a major role in the friendly relations between the Vice President and the Christian community.

This is the main reason behind the salvos being thrown at Rev. Kusi Boateng from the NDC. Over the past few months, it has been one wild allegation after the other but all to no avail.

The Vice President enjoys cordiality with many pastors or men of God. It is not only Rev. Victor Kusi Boateng who is on friendly terms with Bawumia. There are hundreds of them out there he is friends with.

In effect, these attempts to tarnish the image of Rev. Kusi Boateng will not yield any tangible fruits because the man has an unblemished integrity.

Let us look at Ablakwa’s wild allegations against the man of God. He says he has two different sets of names.

It is not a crime to undergo a change in name using legal means. What we should know is that, per the designs of our passport, one person cannot hold two different passports with different names concurrently. The biometric nature of our passports makes it impossible to acquire two passports with two different names. The fingerprints would expose the person.

What this means is that the claim that Rev. Victor Kusi Boateng is using multiple identities cannot be true. A change in name happened.

The other bit about some GHS2.6 million transfer into the man of God’s establishment JNS has also been deflated by the evidence supplied by the National Cathedral Secretariat.

According to the Secretariat, the payment was a refund of an interest free money JNS loaned to the entity and this has been backed by an evidence that cannot be controverted.

It is clear that these people are so much afraid of Dr. Bawumia that they would go to every length just to sully the image of those around him.

The attached news item gives ample evidence that indeed these people are having sleepless nights over Bawumia as the man they love to hate. Bawumia will succeed and become the next President of Ghana in the 2024 elections.
