Parliament to adjourn sine die on July 27— Majority Leader

Majority Leader and Minister of Parliamentary Affair, Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu, has disclosed Parliament will adjourn sine die on Wednesday, July 27.

Hon. Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu who made the disclosure on the floor of Parliament when he presented the Business Statement of the House for the fifth week ending Friday, June 24.

He urged members of the House to therefore do business expeditiously as possible.

Mr Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu also urged the Committees of Parliament with referrals to expedite work on same for consideration of the House.

According to him, seven ministers are expected to attend upon the House in the ensuing week to respond to 61 questions – six urgent and 55 oral questions.

Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta has been scheduled to attend upon the House on Wednesday, June 22, to brief it on the expenses incurred by the Government since the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic in the country in 2020.

He indicated that leadership of the House is still in collaboration with the Minister responsible for National Security to brief Parliament at a close sitting on matters pertaining to security of the State, particularly in respect of the recent spate of incipient terrorist attacks within the West African sub-region.

He indicated that the day the briefing was to be made would be communicated to Members during the course of the ensuing week
