Parliament to reconvene on June 6

Members of Parliament have been recalled from recess for the commencement of the 2nd Meeting of the 3rd Session of the 8th Parliament of the 4th Republic.

The MPs are expected to reconvene on Tuesday, June 6, 2023, in line with Order 37 of the Standing Orders.

A notice signed by the Speaker recalled the MP’s recess.

“In pursuance of standing order 37 of the Parliament of Ghana, I, Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin, Speaker of Parliament, hereby give notice that the Second Meeting of The Third Session of the Eighth Parliament of the Fourth Republic shall commence on Tuesday, the 6th day of June 2023 at Ten O’clock in the forenoon at Parliament House, Accra.

The House went on recess on Friday, March 31, 2023, after a long night, controversially approving three new tax bills. It was however recalled for a day’s sitting on Tuesday, May 2, 2023, to approve some seven loan agreements totaling US$750 million for the financing of various projects being pursued by the Akufo-Addo-led government.
